VOLUMETRIC CONCRETE
HOW IT WORKS
HOW IT WORKS
-
A volumetric concrete truck is brought to the construction site. These trucks are equipped with bins or compartments that store the different raw materials in their dry form.
-
The required proportions of cement, aggregates, water, and any additives are determined based on the specific mix design needed for the project. The volumetric mixer has the capability to proportion these materials accurately.
-
The mixer combines the dry materials and water is added to create a fresh batch of concrete. This is done on-site, ensuring that the concrete is mixed at the right moment and is not subject to any delays in transportation.
-
One of the key advantages of volumetric mixers is their adjustability. If there are changes in the mix design or if additional materials are required, adjustments can be made on-site without the need to return to a batching plant.
-
The mixed concrete is then transported from the mixer to the construction area. This allows for a continuous pouring process, reducing the risk of cold joints in the concrete.
-
Since the concrete is mixed on-site, it is delivered in its freshest state. This can be beneficial for certain applications where the properties of fresh concrete are critical.
